Every good as user can go through each

Every consumer shopping at an online store goes through whole lot of options he
choose from before he can make its purchase after all online stores are all
about variety at your easiest convenience. So every ecommerce store is expected
to have the most efficient process of loading its products to make the maximum
sales.

Typically,
there are 3 types of loading methods to be implemented in an online store.

1.     Infinite
Scrolling

2.     Pagination

3.     Load More
Functionality

According to a
recent test studies done by an institute in particularly loading
functionalities and addendum of an experienced ecommerce development company,
below are the total pros and cons of each functionality type:

1)Infinite Scrolling :

This is the
most convenient type of loading for its users as they won’t have to click on
any buttons to see more products and the list goes on and on loading itself
automatically until the products end. Its efficient application can serve the
user with all the products seamlessly and in the best terms.

However, the
problem with infinite scrolling is that the initial results mostly go less
noticed as the users keep scrolling down to more results.

Furthermore,
footer is not accessible until the end of results and the important functions
can not be accessed with this scrolling. And if the list is too long, then
further diminishes the possibilities of accessing the footer.

2)Pagination :

It is one of
the firstly accepted method of product listing which is still mostly used among
all the major ecommerce stores. The efficiency of pagination is also good as
user can go through each product closely before going to the other page and the
fixed number of results show up at every page with fixed number of pages with
respect to the products.

This is the
slowest way to access products and the design/development part of it is also
the most time consuming.

The biggest
disadvantage is not the time consuming part but if the list is too long, user
gets discouraged and gets out of it mostly assuming the time it would take to
access all the results.

3)Load More :

This is the
middle ground functionality amongst them all as it is time efficient too and
user can easily go through the whole list just by scrolling in one direction.
As efficient as it is, the approach is adopted by only 8% of the total stores
amongst which the usability test was carried out.

The
design/development is fairly simple too as all the user got to do is click/tap
on a button named as “Load more Results” or “Do you want to see more products”
etc. etc.

One thing which
the store has to take in consideration carefully is the application of back
button i.e. for instance, once the user gets to some product’s details,
clicking on the back button should get him back to the original position in the
list instead of sending the user at the starting point.

However, Load
More functionality is an approach which has least of the major drawbacks that
rest of the other two possesses.

Conclusion :

However, there
is a case to be made where all three of the above functionalities can be
implemented in different sections of the store such as category list, product
list, search results etc.I would suggest the readers to take help of an
experienced ecommerce development company by
getting their stores analyzed for the most appropriate areas of implementation
of the respective loading functionalities and enjoy the benefits of each
approach without having to burden the users with their flaws.
